Default .:: Automatic to Manual swap ::.

Hey HMT,

Im pretty new to this site but i really love how everyone helps each other around. Well with that said....
I have a 94 Honda Civic ex wich is automatic and i am going to do a conversion to manual. I bought the d16z6 transmission as well as an ACT clutch system. Before i planned this out i bought my friends 95 civic with a d15** tht came from washington. so we pretty much stripped that *****-sucka barebone and we are planning on using those parts for my 94 civic ex but i am wondering if there is going to be anything that im going to have to come across and interfere with my swap ?? any ideas?? i got everything from the other civic and im planning on putting it on my 94 ex but i unno if the 95 is a dx .. does it matter?? thx for the help.

the bits needed for the swap to manual trans should all be the same between a DX or EX.

you also need the passenger side motor mount bracket (on the frame rail). you can buy em for like 36 bux and weld it in.

yes

Just modify the one you have now.

AND GOOD LUCK WITH THE WIREING....B/C ITS GOIN TO SCREW WITH YOUR IGNITION
Just take your old shifter harness and solder the two fatest wires together. That will allow you to start the car. Then jumper two of the other wires together so you can get your key out. Not really hard at all.

One of those sets of wires should also be for the reverse lights I think. I never messed around with the hydro trannys too much, but I'm pretty sure you have to extend those 2 reverse light wires to the switch on the trans. Just get a meter and test the wires until you find which ones they are.
