Ok so i installed the ghetto-fabulous obx intake manifold on my N/A d16a6 in a 90 rex. it looks all shiny and nice but when i start it up it revs to 4 grand and climbs to 5 grand and stays there.

i made a diag of where everything goes and hooked it up just like the stock intake mani. i have checked my wireing like 5 times. Im not sure about the 2 coolant hoses that go to the Electronic air control valve but i dont think that would mess it up this bad. has anyone ever had this problem?? what should i check next?

i wanna get this done b/c the next thing to install is the turbo kit (with lots of pics btw).

 

you should put everything... EVERYTHING. these stupid honda/acura motors are really sensitive to all that ----

 

i put every sensor back on, i think its the fast idle control solenoid (Electronic air control valve as Haynes calles it) on the back of the intake mani. but what could be wrong with it, its plugged in and bolted down tight, i have heard i dont even need that sensor. i will unplug that thing and test it tomorrow, i have been installing this pos for 2 days now, im pissed

 

sounds like a leak. did you put your gaskets back on?

hah ya i put the intake to head one on but the intake to tb one is on order .. will be here tues.. i have run this engine without that gasket for a while though.. the tb is only held on with 3 bolts though.. the 4th one dosent line up.. i will drill that out and torque it down tomorrow.

this reving to high rpm is wierd b/c the tb is completely closed the whole time. it leaking could be very possible

sounds to me like you broke or fucked up your tps i guarundamntee it that sucks get one off a junkyard car because if go to a shop youll end up spending at least a couple hundred

I would take sloppy seconds on that wood chipper.Those intakes look good from far but are far from good!
