Default 88-89 Integra motor over ZC motor ??

ok ive got a question here.
are the 88-89 integra motors considered the USDM ZC motor ?? ive heard that some come the with d16a1...some with d16a3 ... the d16a8 and the d16a9....which one is really the 88-89 teg motor

and would it be cheaper and easier to aquire the motor and parts for the 88-89 teg motor than a zc ?? should i just get a 88-89 teg motor instead cause i see these cars at junkyards alot and will they bolt up to the crx SI tranny ??
i know they have a few less hp but im willing to sacrifice the few hp if its easier to get parts for and if its easy to install like the ZC....is the wiring the same wiring as the ZC ?? or is it different ??

well...you can..in a way...consider that. but really, theres no such thing as a USDM ZC. PERIOD. only d16a1,a3,,etc. theres so many zc's out there....FI,sohc,dohc,carbed,and even a mugen built ZC-G...you can get anyone you want. just try not to mistaken it for an LS. I've seen it happen 1 to many time. the brown valve cover ones are lower in hp. but I think they all run the same. but if you want to research more on it and get a headache....call around the shops and/or check out www.hybrid.honda-perf.org and look around the archives. good luck

ive been considering on getting a d16a1 from the junkyard....cause they have 6 for sale right now for $150 a piece and im gonna get one....now my question is....this bolts right in just like the zc does into a 91 crx hf right ?? should i use the 88-89 integra tranny instead of a crx SI tranny ? do i have to get the integra axles if i use integra tranny ??. I know im going to use the teg ecu cause it pulls harder fuel and timing. where is the starting and ending redline on this engine ??

The d16a1 will not bolt in the 4g civic/crx chasis.. its a piece of ----. The front mount sits in a different spot, the tranny bell housing bolts are differnt too. So you are pretty much out of luck, plus they are only rated 10 more hp than a stock d16a6.

The ZC is a huge breed of engines.

In a way you could consider the d16a1 to be apart of that family.
since they share alot of the same characteristics.
