84-87 crx swap info
Ok so here is the deal. I ran across a 85 crx for ase with a shot motor. $200 everything els is good on the car. I have 2 torn apart a6 sitting in my garage, and a l3 trans and axels. Also have just about everything to turbo it. Here is where the gears in my head start smoking! So I found a site a few years ago where a guy took a d16a1 or a zc and swaped it in, he also had alot of pics. Just wondering how tuff this swap is? I know I will have to do some wiring for the fuel inj. but beside that what about the mounts, links, and axels?
You're going to have to make all of your own mounts. NE Crew did this for the Pinks car - D16Z6 drivetrain into 86 Civic sedan.
Transmission offsets appear approx the same, we're using stock 84-87 axles with one of the inner joints from 88+. The outer hubs are the same as 88+ HF/STD/CX/VX aka "small spline" and the only way to upgrade is 86-89 Integra spindles. One of the inner joints... I think the driver's side long axle?... the spline for the transmission end is 1/4" too short so we just swapped over the inner joint from a transmission era correct axle.
There's a good chance you can run an 86-89 Integra intermediate shaft.. I think one of the bolt holes lines up, and you can fudge the other two with a welder and some moxy. This, of course, requires you install ZC differential + run Integra sized splined axles.

the browntop d16a1 from the tegs are a direct bolt in swap as long as you have the crx si harness. everything is bolt in... very common swap. i'd suggest going to redpepperracing.com and reading up a little more (differences between dif. ZCs, browntop and blacktop, etc).
