Engine swap info needed
I have a eg civic (VX) Im going to do a swap,A local junkyard told me that a d16y8 will fit straight in ? What model d16 vtec will fit straight in with no obd conversion's?? D16Z1? Is my civic OBD-1 or OBD-2?
This bloke just confused the F%^K out of me!Anyway He wants $330 for a complete low k Y8 with ECU but no engine harness.
Also the cars gona be boosted

Your car is OBD-1, the Y8 is OBD-2. Can it be done? Probably, but I know the ecu will not plug right in your harness. Might need some kind of convertion kit if any are available. Not sure if your car has a second oxygen sensor, but I know the Y8 has 2, one on the exhaust manifold, one down on the cat. Now $330 is pretty cheap. I would do some more research and try and do it. It's been done before, but I don't think it will be a straight, drop in swap.
