Re: wireless help for the ubuntu OS

sudo depmod -a
sudo modprobe ndiswrapper
run that

when thats ran

run this

tail /var/log/messages
and if you get error messages post up, if you don't

sudo ifconfig wlan0
sudo iwlist scan
sudo iwconfig wlan0 essid [mynetworkessid]
sudo dhclient wlan0
run that don't forget to change the wireless network ssid. after this your internetshould work and you should be able to download the version of this with a graphical user interface so you can use it like windows.

Re: wireless help for the ubuntu OS

there's a space in between tail and /var. You can copy and paste commands in terminal if you want, it's a little faster :)

Re: wireless help for the ubuntu OS

It's not that hard. 10 minutes in a google search would get you all of the needed information. l taught my 42 year old mother who's just gotten a computer for the first time this year how to use linux :)
