I learned how to fly, it was worth it, but now I am broke and still not a commercial pilot........

get a good degree, meet people in college make friends/contacts! I think the contacts will end up helping the most. I'm working on my master's in computer sceince, I work all day long for free. We only have to be at school half days. We even get to choose which 12 hours to send in the labs, the rest is spent class.

I'm graduating in a few months and I think I've got at least my next few years figured out. Pretty much the past 5 years I've wanted to do graphic design because it always seemed like a pretty good industry to be in. But at the beginning of this year I realized that I could'nt handle not doing something mechanical for a living. I'm going to Rensselaer this fall for mechanical engineering. I figure if worst comes to worse most garages would hire someone with a degree in mechanical engineering from one of the better tech school out there.

I was scared about what I was going to do and I didn't want to be a loser like the rest of my friends. I know college wouldn't have been an option for me though. They usually don't accept people who generate straight F's throughout an entire school year.

That is kinda sad. I wish you would't think like that though. But im in college now transfering to an art college next year in ohio. I plan on developing my art and writing skills.

There's always a community college just waiting to accept you somewhere, even if you have straight F's. In the end it'll be better to have some college education or degree, than just being a high school grad, with no special training. Sometimes you get lucky and find a goob employer who will give you a chance and teach you a trade, but usually is not like that. I know you people don't want to end up being 30 or 40 working for a fast food place or walmart or something like that. Go to school, don't waste your time, then when you are about 25 you will be graduating and making good money. College is just a big party anyways, with some studying and tests and stuff.
