I am going to be making a home made one. pretty much water flows one way through the rad hose to the rad and then back to the engine. what I will make is 2 pieces of stainless pipe with a nipple welded through them, one end will be cut on an angle just like a slash cut, and the other end will have the water lines going to it from the turbo.

The slash cut would be positioned depending on coolant travel, so one side sucks and the other side pushes coolant.

This would be a very simple feed/return system and would work great.

I got ya. It's the same way flow meters work, the pressure differential between the two pipes is a linear response to the amount of the flow. Do you think there would be enough pressure differential to push the water through the turbo? Seems like it would only flow when the thermostat was open, allowing more water to enter the engine from the rad.

I dont see why it wouldn't, the void of air in the turbo would help with water coming in and the venturi effect on the return side would help suck it back down in theory. weather it works or not I'm not sure but I'll find out.

EDIT:

If you think about this, the product you have picks up water from the returning coolant that is going to the rad, having the water picked up from the bottom rad hose would be more benefical for the turbo because the water is now much cooler. now I bet the turbo doesn't care what the water temp is because even boiling water would help cool it down, especially when its glowing red hot.

The tricky part is generating enough pressure pre thermostat to pump that water to the turbo. so this is what I though. what if you develop a product that uses the intake manifold coolant port that feeds the IACV, this would be re-routed back to the turbo and then from the turbo you'd have a spliced rad hose that would take the returning liquid back to get cooled off.

In either case, because you have 2 open sources. You're always going to get some water movement.

Actually it's intended as a return, not a pickup.

I am intrigued by this though....

nice hurry up with the B series one. I had to sacrifice my coolant bleeder to run my temperature sender, so it would be nice to have one of these plates

$25-$30 is a great price

The B Series is gonna be a bitch. It can be done, it's just tight. The GSR will be much easier...
