Superchargers?
 

Why aren't more people using superchargers, like the vortec's, whpple's,Eaton's,etc... I guess most smaller engines don't supercharge mainly because they won't fit under the hood... Turbo's are headaches, have delay at start, boost fails, overheating problems, tuning problems, constant problems....I just don't get it..... Does anyone agree with me on this?

superchargers and turbochargers are for different goals.
turbos can more easily get higher HP and greater top end in the higher RPM range
superchargers are for instant boost and being able to have gains across the entire RPM range.

that being said, you may want to leave the site on account this is HOME MADE TURBO

I was never very impressed with the v10, the newer 3 valve ones are better. I ------- hate changing the heads on those ------- things :P

supercharging doesnt necessarily create more torque.

the proper size turbocharger for an engine will create a lot of torque, more than a supercharger.

my $400 twin turbo kit will outperform any $3000+ s/c kit at the same boost pressure.

I like superchargers, dont get me wrong, but turbos will almost make more power, and with a properly sized turbine you should be fine on the street. turbos will always win at the race track.

you're an idiot, turbochargers are just as old as superchargers

there is no new technology in your engine. turbos are old, OHC is old, VTEC if it has it is old (other types of variable valve control are old... 80s).

most turbo D series are slow.

the only reason people dont supercharge is because it cost 3 grand for the god damn compressor, end of story. Unless you try to junkyard a roots, (centerfugial superchargers are gay sauce). Then you have to fab up a plate to hook the roots up to your head, fab up the belt drive system for it. its a pain in the ------- ass. and you dont get a blow off valve and kewlies spooling sounds when your done with it.

jibby man your engine almost weighs as much as our cars. Turbo's are way better, just because superchargers produce boost right away doesnt mean they produce more power or torque. CRXTC_Com is right, stop rippin pictures off....stupid... :S

Lately I've been leaning more towards superchargers. Reason being that they're more efficient. Engines like higher intake ratios.
