Chacko, where are you located, I'll probably be interested in that motor if you don't have to ship it. Let me guess, you live on the West Coast?

Re:SOHC OR DOHC?

sounds like that noise your hearing is crank walk, the main bearings are fucked rather than the rods bearings.

an about the 18psi thing. the d series would hold the boost better due to the lower Cr but the rods would die eventually. with the b16, the rods would hold the 18psi all day but the weak spot would be the the higher CR eventually leading to some busted ringlands. so i guess just pick one, i think its funny to beat a dual and then pop your hood and so em your lil single cam but thats just my 0.02. :P

Re:SOHC OR DOHC?

The only complaints I have about my ZC is the swapability. Yeah, the exhaust flange is the same, but the ports are not, so I would either have to deal with shitty ports, or port my manifold to match, but then the manifold becomes a ZC only manifold. :-\

Plus, if I blow the bottom end, I can't just drop a Z6 in it. I either have to drop a new ZC in or a whole SOHC setup. It kinda sucks.

BTW, I'll ship you a nice Z6 shortblock for $200. ;)

You could still use the manifold on any other d-series, it would just be ported.

Re:SOHC OR DOHC?

Why? Because I'm not a ghetto ass ricer like you? I like ---- that works efficiently, not WalMart fiberglass hoods and ricer exhausts with mesh screen silencers.
