Yes, he started out in 5th gear. I completely forgot he had a 5.5 final drive that allowed him to be at 6K rpm in 5th gear at 50mph.

Hold on a second while I run and jump inside Kyle's body, jump in the teleportal to go back in time, and do the race over again so I can be in the seat to figure out which one of the 1000 things that could have happened, happened.

It was. Kyle said the car was fast, and he never expected the civic nor the crx to be half as fast as they were. That's all he said, at least while I talked to him. His buddy tried to say they were side by side (which I can agree with for the first race) and then continued to say that about the 2nd. We immediately asked to run again for money, and he immediately said no way. V's car weighs literally nothing.

The same thing happened in Columbia this weekend. Guy got very cocky about his DA. Fully built, Benson sleeved block, big sc61 on 16psi, with 1000cc injectors. I'm sure he was pumping a good bit of power, and was with a VERY respected team locally. He was on bfg drag radials. They kicked it off from 2nd gear and were side by side the entire way. He wouldn't say how much he was making, and I can't blame him. If I had a fully built motor making the kind of power he was probably making and couldn't pull off from a stock block/head civic, I wouldn't either.

It's all about knowing how to race, and who to race. We knew the DA would pull from a 3rd gear roll so that's why we went to second. You MAKE the other person race where YOU want to go from, and that can win or lose the race. The Mustang may have not been in his powerband (which still may not be the case b/c it's not like a honda) and we made him go from where we knew we were making power. I honestly didn't expect the civic to pull like it did simply b/c it was on street tires, but whatever, it happened. As well as the 460whp DC2 and fully built DA.
