Awesome progress. I just read the entire thread...wow.
I imagine that's how my car looked before, but kinda worse. It had one of those monster sized body kits on it, was hit on each corner, had melted underhood wiring, yellow-painted interior parts, and was half painted flat black/teal.... I think there is a lot of 92-95 civics with this same fate.
You're really not making terrible progress. Most well-done car restorations take a few years if the normal person is doing all the work themselves. My first car took 3 years to build, and cost about $12k when I was done, too bad it isn't nearly as fast as yours will be.
That rad. hose is a pretty scary sight. I would think of maybe running a metal pipe for it instead, connected with rubber ends. But if you get some of that metallic-like heat-wrap, that ---- is supposed to be able to protect plug wires from metlting, that are against exhausts, so that should work fine too.
Good luck.

Well, after going through a million colors I had finally decided on olive green (bmw urban green to be exact). Unfortunately I recently found out that a local shop owner (and ex-hmt sponsor *straight line specialties*) currently has a civic hatch in the shop getting painted olive green. So, not wanting any of the locals to say I was copying him I changed colors again, this time I'm going with an OEM honda color (honda element cargo khaki) I sprayed out the bumper with some single stage today to get a feel for it, and I really like it, I'm going to go buy the paint for it this week and start on the body work.
