Re: Out of the turbo honda game. '77 Celica. 1UZ-FE. Holset H1E GANGSTA!
I got my engine.
I want to thank 88dx for helping me pick it up from Tacoma. I really appreciate it. http://x10.putfile.com/3/7001283368.jpg Look at all the crap that I pulled off it. Going in the garbage. http://x10.putfile.com/3/7001222939.jpg Moldy rat turds http://x10.putfile.com/3/7001211236.jpg http://x10.putfile.com/3/7001280986.jpg http://x10.putfile.com/3/7001291985.jpg http://x10.putfile.com/3/7001315043.jpg The manifolds look pretty decent. http://x10.putfile.com/3/7001300174.jpg Flipped. I will have to remote mount the oil filter and get creative with the alternator http://x10.putfile.com/3/7001302750.jpg |

Re: Out of the turbo honda game. '77 Celica. Got my 1UZ-FE
DOHC, V8, 32 valves, and a turbo...
That's a pretty good recipe if you ask me. |
Re: Out of the turbo honda game. '77 Celica. Got my 1UZ-FE
Cleaned intake mani and valve covers. My alu polish was all dried up. :?
http://x10.putfile.com/3/7101180753.jpg http://x10.putfile.com/3/7101170660.jpg Oddball throttle body. Secondary TB, TPS and traction control. I'm probably not going to use it. I would like something clearner, maybe rustang or Q45 tb. http://x10.putfile.com/3/7101190922.jpg http://x10.putfile.com/3/7101184943.jpg FMIC arrived. It's huge! http://x10.putfile.com/3/7101192889.jpg http://x10.putfile.com/3/7101194928.jpg |
Re: Out of the turbo honda game. '77 Celica. Got my 1UZ-FE
Wow.
http://x10.putfile.com/3/7001291985.jpg That's about as ignorant as SBF, where most block failure is attributable to the intake manifold being bolted on *incorrectly* from the factory. These 1UZ's don't have a reputation for splitting down the middle of the lifter galley when pushed to their limit, do they? |

"A Toyota/Lexus 1UZ-FE 4L (244 cubes) 4 valve quad-cam engine. It has a forged crank, six bolt mains, reinforced lifter galley, and all aluminum construction. Pound for pound it was the most advanced V8 until it's successor--the 3UZ-FE--was introduced. What would a discussion of the 1UZ-FE be without mentioning the 6-bolt main, steel cap, deep crank recess, bottom end. This contributes to a virtually indestructable assembly. The stock bottom end has been known to make almost 1000 bhp on mostly stock parts. With a completely stock assembly and compression ratio (10:1), the 1UZ has produced 600 bhp with 15 bs of boost." Rods and crank are forged. http://www.1uzfe.com/ |
