maybe its more efficient for them to drop the turbo in bolted to the motor on the prouction line. they dont want to drop more pumps in or have another stage in the production of the car. that would be money out there pocket

At first i thought this was somewhere behind the front wheels but then i look and that ---- goes all the way back. There is no way that would be more efficient, lag would be crazy. I've seen turbos go under the body of cars on V configured engines when there's only a single turbo used, seing as there is no more space in the engine compartment but never that far back. Maybe they think it "feels" faster because boost hits like a mutha when it reaches the engine in that long maze of plumbing. I wonder how much more oil you have to add to compesate for the length of the oil lines :X

I dont know but after seeing that one of my buddies f'ed up this $1.2g ball bearing turbo from simple oil line mistakes I'd still tap it up top.

the only downside i can see is that if you want to do anything with the turbo or manifold you might have to drain the oil... well you could jsut unhook it from the turbo and leave it on there prop'd up
