Re:Opinions on remote mounted turbo systems
lol.. nah man... you planning on making a kit that would mount in that location, that why you asking?

Re:Opinions on remote mounted turbo systems
nah, my car is factory turbo, i just thought it looked nice, prolly would suck in the rain tho

Re:Opinions on remote mounted turbo systems
i think its kinda cool. but you would need an oil pump in the back of the car or somthing with its own reserve.

Re:Opinions on remote mounted turbo systems
The thing is though.. if its "more efficient", why has NO car companies EVER made a car with factory turbo in that location? ???

Re:Opinions on remote mounted turbo systems
maybe they never thought of it

They use a pump to return the oil. I can't see that being more efficient at all. Think about this. With the turbo all the way back there and the length the exhaust gasses have to go to reach the turbo, how much power do you think has been lost? You can put your hand over the end of your exhaust piep and stall your car. Try putting your hand over the end of a turbo manifold. I bet spool time really sucks with that method. I don't see any advantages over the normal way except now nobody can see a turbo under your hood. Sleeper style fo sho. __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
Re:Opinions on remote mounted turbo systems
not to thread jack, but has any one else noticed that all the new "TURBO KITS" just put the return on a banjo bolt to the the oil drain plug.
the new greddy kits ans jg eldelbrock kits are like that. how the hell does that work, i always though the return must be higher than the oil level in the pan. |
