Yeah, with some aluminum ---- and a few less accessories, you can get your weight distribution pretty close. It just takes some hard work to get it right.

yeah ive seen a couple of 700r4's go out. i blew the one in my truck before i owned it and my brother blew the one in his truck when we were turning a corner one day. the 700r is more for the person whose gonna be driving on the highway or freeway alot. have you though about pullin one of the old 5 speeds from the old comaros? or pickin up an old school 4 speed from the pontiacs? i personally like manual alot more.

I like manual too, but with the power I'm making it won't matter. And for a quality rebuilt T-350 its only $400 from a guy my dad knows.

Weight distribution is not a problem..Barely noticeable....you will miss the rotary sound though...

The t-5 you're speaking of hardly could handle the hp of the 305 that went with it. It probably wouldn't hold up well to a 350. It might do ok for a while with that high of a rearend gear ratio, but not worth all the work of putting it in. the t-350 is probably the best thing to do, and deffinately the easiest, I was just suggesting the 700r4 for highway gas and topend speed. They behave the same as a t-350 on lower end, cause the 700r4 is basicallly a t-350 with od. the newer ones honestly don't hold up too bad if kept cool.

Here is a teaser pic of my dad's hotrod. No pics of the car yet. This 454 bored to 496 cubic inches is going into a rare 1934 Ford Victoria.

And the ability to wind out to 8k without a sweat. I miss those sounds with the sirens driffting off in the distance...
