I'll try and take some more, those were taken at night.

Upon further inspection there are little "JG" stamps around the exhaust ports...isn't there a popular headwork shop called JG engine works or some ---- like that? I'll try and get some pics but bear with my as my camera is a few years old.

Head looks like ass, probably still usable with some new valves and alot of cleaning and ----.

Re: Did I get screwed?

milled .020 is quite a bit, more than I'd want. (make sure you clay to check valve clearance.

It looks more like it has cleaned up casting marks, not real porting, but it's definately not just stock ports, those have been worked.

The combustion chambers look like ass, but your camera sucks balls, so it's hard to tell what's happening. I'd suggest having a shop check it out and if they say its good, have them bead blast it, it'll look way nicer.

Remember, anyone can use a dremel to port and throw some aftermarket springs and retainers in a head, but most the increase in flow comes from the valve job, a ported head with a stock valve job will flow less than a stock port with a good valve job.

Couple more pictures...still not exactly the best.

The intake ports look pretty decent
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...ey/intport.jpg
The exhaust ports are dirty as ----
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...ey/export2.jpg
Looks like there is ---- burnt and caked onto the valves

Here is the stamp/mark that definately resembles the logo of www.jgenginedynamics.com

Edit: Pic for comparison

Sorry for the poor quality pictures.

Also how would I clay check valve clearance? And how much would .020 bump the compression?

the combustion chamber looks like its messed up. i dont know if its the pics again but it looks as if it was chipping off around the valves

Re: Did I get screwed?

Listen i have a head that was ported and polished, 3 way angle job and all that bull ----. i paid about $1500. for the whole thing to be done and reworked.. but with you head it looks like the valves look like they need to be reset and there seems to be quit alot of dirt and what appears to be rust on the head. thats not cool . it also looks like there has been some metal to metal contact. take the head to a GOOD machine shop that does heads and ask them . its free and they'll steer you in the right direction. if it was me i would ask the seller who did the p/p work and who set the valves and what are the clearances and settings. anyone that claims valve work would at least know that much. Do not send any more money till you find out whats going on. ayway the jg valves are worth at least $250-$350 if they are in good shape.

Those are stock valves, it was listed as just pnp and upgrade valve springs/retainers, no valves.

The combustion chambers look like ass, as do the exhaust valve stems. Go get it checked out, and confirm that you got a bad deal.

almost looks like it was run with a bad headgasket. get it checked to see if it's warped.

Well it is obvious that it has been out of the car for a while now. There is rust in a lot of places that never should get rusty.

I would say that you got screwed, now just figure out how hard. Give up the dudes name and let him defend this POS.
