The sr20 can blow me.... They are less efficent, smaller motors, and you have to put a ton of money into just getting it swapped.

dunno if thats true, but the sr20det is without a doubt a better engine. i'm pretty sure a stanza/altima/240/hardbody rodz aren't gonna hold 500hp. the sr20 will kick the ---- out of a ka24de. any stock boosted engine is gonna hold boost better than a non-stock boosted engine.
from what i've heard the swap isn't very hard at all and don't cost that much to swap either. you don't need new mounts or anything, and you can find the engine, tranny, ecu, and uncut harness for about 2400.
the red-top sr20det with just top can make 475whp. i don't think a ka could do that at all.

ya the sr20 is a bandwagon motor. It's a pos in my mind. I'd do a ka24 way before an sr20. and the 240s are the new civic with all this drift/jdm crap going on. I HATE drift.. it's just a for of entertainment.. waste of tires.

The KA is a really beefy motor, and stock internals they have been taken to over 500whp. Check out Non Fujita's OS Giken sponsored car :)

Here's my pignose coupe:

KA24DE with I/H/E, overall a good daily driver. I payed $1k for it with a blown SOHC, and the KADE swap cost me $1,100 including the I/H/E and a new clutch. Has me wanting to sell my Civic :p

I liked the write up and pics, thanks.

The problem with the KA is the block, it's maxed out, the walls between the pistons is so thin. Ppl have been having ---- luck boosting those motors for years, and even with really good management, they might make ---- loads of power, but they don't last long, and their is hardly even enough meat between the cylinders to do a bore job if you did have to rebuild, I guess the blocks are cheap and plentiful if you don't mind doing frequent swaps.

Here's one guys experience, this guy created the sds efi system BTW and has been boosting all sorts of cars and planes for years;

Good luck!

BTW:

-It may look like there are "back seats" but they are really just an illusion.

-I have a spare OEM DIN filler pocket thing for below the radio if you need one

"Whipple computer chip for complete engine control" -from whipple's site..... we didn't put the blower on.. It came with it on, so I don't know as much about the kit as I would like.

Thanks but no thanks... I'm gonna put my gauges there, so I'll just leave it empty untill turbo.
