Believe it or not, you aren't the only one that thinks Hyundai is ---- and that an elantra will be beat by a turbo d16. Crazy I know.

Sonotas may have a bit of power but they are the heaviest of the hyundais. Tibs are by no means fast and share almost identical motors as the elantras with different gear ratios in the transmissions. I guess its only fair to call all hyundais a pos since i pretty much feel the same way about hondas. I doubt I would even be driving a import if i could afford gas with a sweet gas guzzling v8. My first car was a 79 chevy nova, those were the days. Gas prices rose and drove me to buying this econobox of a gas saver. That and my 300zx turbo finally blew up.... I bought this car with no plans to touch it but i guess once you get a taste of boost you always want it Hell this car wouldnt even so quick if it wasnt for being so damn light. All things considered I've put this car through hell and its been as reliable as the day I bought it, I cant complain.

Speaking of keeping the front down, the coolest thing I saw at one of the local tracks was a guys mustang foxbody running 150 shot of nitrous off the line, with big slicks obviously, the front would lift and the frame would twist on him, ran low 10's may I add this was a daily driver with a full cage, sweet car

Duh last time I checked hondas have been around longer than hyundais as well as the demand for aftermarket parts. Aftermarket is just now starting to be *somewhat* met for the hyundai community and of course is expensive. I doubt Honda manifolds were always $40 Besides I can think of plenty of cars where aftermarket cost more than hyundais aftermarket does... A turbo manifold for a 1.5 accent can be found for about 50bucks sure its a stock scoupe turbo manifold cast iron with shitty flow but its a start ;-) I didnt say it was cheap to boost these cars though I really doubt its much more expensive to turbo a honda vs any hyundai. Select few parts we pay more for sure. As for options hyundais have lots of performance options that have been opened up. For example older excels and several year sonotas engines are a direct swap with a 4g63t, plenty of support there. An accent motor (1.5) is almost a direct swap with a tiburon/elantra 2.0 with the exception of moving one motor mount (many years dont even have to be rewired for the new ecu its plug and play). The 1.5 accent can faily easily be boosted off the basis that hyundai had a scoupe turbo production car with the 1.5 in it so you can use those parts for a start. Neways the point is a hyundai has options as a honda as options as a geo has options blah blah blah There seems to be a honda vs hyundai trend going on these days
And we care because?
