my point is that clock speed doesnt matter, dollar for dollar AMD's were faster when P4's were "hot ----". comparably speaking you got a faster cooler running chip for less money with the AMD crowd. saying one can run with a heat sink off doesnt mean ---- to me... whens the last time you had your HS fall off? they had to put that fearure in there beacuse their processors ran rediculously hot right out of the box with an anemic factory cooler to the point that on stock settings under load they shut down. p4's were just popular becuase they got the contracts for all the big name computer companys..

it doesnt really matter anyway, they stopped making p4's for a reason (notice they still make athlon series). i have a core 2 now and those are a whole different ball game....

Disagree totaly. Higher clock speeds directly equate to higher voltage. you cant make power from nothing so once they sarted to push the envalope of the design it got hotter. when i OC'd that 2.8 you got to be crazy to think i wasn't pushing more voltage to it. you boost you gotta get fuel from somewhere.

i agree with the duo core ---- though. i built one about 2 months ago and i held on to it for a day longer cause i thought something was wrong with it. it ran at like 60 Celsius while trying to burn and watch a movie, little 2.4 was fast as ----.
