During the yearly SEMA show in Vegas there's another sideshow called APEX. The APEX show is all overseas manufacturers offering everything from turbos, axles, bearings, and anything else you can think of. It's all large quantity stuff. They won't deal with you unless your first order is in the $15,000 range, and theres no "test models" before that. You chance it and order, or you don't.
Me and Craig went to the show and weren't looking to spend $15,000, so nobody wanted to sell us anything. None of them really speak engrish, and none of them have US distributors that we could buy from (none that would probably want to be mentioned). It was shitty too, cause this guy was selling 2.5" flex pipes for like $3, but he wanted an order of 15,000.
We finally switched to the tactic of just trying to buy display model stuff that they brought to the show. One of the guys had a 24x12ish intercooler he was gonna sell me for $40, but someone had already claimed it. :'(
All in all, they all seemed to have most of the same ----, like in China theres a factory building obx manifolds, the factory next door steals the design, and then 15 factories all on the same block are making the same ----.
After this story, you can probably figure out where obx, matrix, apc, etc.... get all their ----. It's not an "obx" or "ssautochrome" or " " manifold, it's a manifold out of one of the 160,934,340 chinese factories.

If I remember correctly, an order of 15,000 obx manifolds would run you about $35 each. :S

All the vendors are really nice though. They speak to you like you're their next "big score" (because if you order, $15,000 is a pretty big score) They'll send you lots of nice emails like the above posted, usually not even in that good of english.

I'm still waiting to see when they start offering "built" engines. casting their own blocks and the whole nine yards.
