Re:Lukas Oil = BAD. Look in.
Steve's a light weight!
After 4 coors lights I would be looking for the viccodin and a case of bud to get the party started.
I've actually sat thru the ------- siminars from the lucas salespeople that they used to hold for us when I was working parts counter. It's still all snake oils to me. Castrol 20w50 basic red cap bottle is usually what I run in my vehicles (mind you I don't drive asian cars). Oils have detergants in them, it's all going to foam slightly, in no way is Lucas oil just going to ---- your motor all the way. Rotella (disel oil) is far different then conventional oil.. if you people are so ------- scared then go find some ND 30 weight to throw in (non detergant lawn mower oil).
I think if the ---- was that bad then we would either see a class action lawsuit or the lack of lucas products on the shelf. Yeah I've used it twice, but it was pretty pointless, I also tried motor flush (which is basicly kerosene) - big mistake. Good thing I wrecked that car out back in '98-'99, cause it always slightly smoked after that bad experience.
You guys still thirsty for more info?
Valvoline uses recycled oil. Castrol Synthetic is not *TRUE* synthetic oil (I don't feel like explaining it right now). I bet you didn't know that the majority of those simple motor additives you see on the shelf are pretty much transmission fluid (ATF).
When you've done it all and ran it all in many different motors you learn what to use. Stay away from 5w30, at least run 10w30. Use thicker oil in the summer seasons, thinner in the winter. If you have a high millage motor, use thicker oil. There is no such thing as something that will magically heal your leaking seals. Most all oil filters are the same, but I do prefer to use the bosch premium filters on any of my cars with whatever choice of castrol motor oil.
Don't trust rednecks with a digital camera and some poorly constructed test devices. For all we know he got paid off by competitors of Lucas to post that ---- up. Unless a lab is doing the tests, I'm not convinced. The lucas display stands u find on the parts counters are bullshit too, every stupid *** plays with them - so I'm sure you're picking up more germs from touching the levers then what that monkey from outbreak was carrying.
I'm done for the night.. good to be back. Thanks to Doc Boost for looking out for me while I was gone - going to bed now.
