The 2.8 arnt to bad only problem ive ever had was rod an main bearings. you can get a two piece intake then add a 450 cfm four barrle carb itll give it quite a bit more power. ive had five blazers an trucks with the 2.8 an one with the 2.4 four cyl. The automatic transmitions arnt the strongest but the 4 and 5 speeds are pretty good. they are even realy easy to swap in a v8 with only minor issues. Good luck

Wrong. That would be the 5.7 diesel. I can only imagine what the diesel market would be like today if GM hadn't fucked that one up so bad.

No, that award goes to the 3.4 liter DOHC that was based off the 2.8. It's like starting with a scoop of ---- and injection molding really cool bits to bolt to it... out of more ----.

I just did head gaskets on one of those, everytime I ordered parts the people at the GM dealership would laugh there *** off. I bowrowed the cam lock tools and they were just so happy they didn't have to do it, they were more then happy to hand them over. I didn't find it bad at all, I've done much worse but that engine is gay.

What Mr *** Dents is saying is that of the four revisions GM put out on how exactly you are supposed to change timing belts on a DOHC 3.4 V6, he happened upon the right one first time around AND got lucky.

That's ------- amazing. I can't believe it's the original motor, though.

Don't get anything with the 2.8. Trust me just be patient you'll wish you hadn't bought it.
