Well, you may have to check again, because John the Baptist never wrote a word in the Bible. That was John, the beloved. His apostle.

According to the Bible, he was the only one of Jesus' apostles to be at the cross when he died. According to the preface before the book of John, in my Bible, it says that it was written between 90ad and 100ad. So these books of the Bible were written in about the same time frame, if you're correct about the year Revelation was written.

Regarding the tsunami, and other very tragic instances, God doesn't necessarily "cause" it to happen. I didn't say he can't, but rather, nobody really knows how it works, except God hmself. He, however, did ALLOW it to happen. I can't say why, or even speculate, as I have enough trouble keeping up with current events here in town. All I know is it happened, and there is something to be learned from it.


I have to respectfully disagree you about Christ's teachings being the cause the Crusades. Or even that the teachings are confused. PEOPLE misuse and twist the scripture to "get away" with whatever they want. But God knows, so they can't actually get away with it. Christ, as you said, WAS a peace-loving type of guy. He always taught about avoiding retaliation, and even violence in general. He was an example for Christians to follow. It looks as if these men in the Crusades skipped over that part. But I can't tell for sure.

When getting deeper into the Bible, and the Christian faith, sometimes things one says can come off as disrespectful in different instances. But maybe the grandfather you spoke to was thinking about how Jesus says many different times that he is the only way back to the Father. Unfortunately, if in their last moments, they didn't accept Christ, according to the Bible, they wouldn't make it to heaven. That's not me making judgements, that's strictly what the Bible says. I certainly have faults, and if I were to reject Christs sacrifice, I'd be in the same boat. I'm NO better than anyone else. That's what makes the GIFT so great. It's undeserved. Salvation has NOTHING to do with me.

im sorry samson. but you SHOULD question. to learn the history about it. you just can't say, "this is absolute truth" and walk blindly with it. unless you like living in a cult. but i used to be this way untill i question the very nature and specifics regarding history and the bible i saw did not corrolate.

one thing i learned about history is that it's been very modified. although there is alot of information. Mankind has altered and change written history to the point where we don't know anything of much at all. like the lutheran revolt where martin luther stamp the morals in the door of the church. history says it was a very peacefull time. and law of the time said that anyone speaking againsted the church will be hung publicly. this is 400-600 ad. yet there are no accounts of history where things like this did happen. with a few exceptions. like when galelo was forced into house arrest (which btw he spent the rest of his life) by the church. he was almost forced to recall and rechant his finding least he ------ knoledge that wasn't accepted into church which is the catholic at the time. i mean this is real ----. it happend

so I made it a personal vendetta to learn everything i can about ancient history. that has been found recently and just been trasnulated without inferance that most churches or religion has augmented or destoryed. like the burning of the library of athans.

i learned about the mayans, egyptians, sumerians, cambodians, the druids of england. i've learn that ancient history was FAR beyond known Knoledge of their time. and everyone of them had astronomical calanders that were VERY accurate esp the mayans.

and in all of my experiances that every one of thoes cultures were Simular. that the history that mankind was created by a god. then it made sense. that every civilization worshiped these gods. the paramids in egypt, the mayan paramid, and the paramid in cambodia. all of them were in dedication to the gods. all of the seprate without any communication to each other. with little doubt after i read the sumerian ancient text. i open my eye's and saw for myself that the universe has always been there. and that it was aliens in our own solar system that created mankind from homo erectus with their own genes. how else is a spieces going to rapidly evolve in the short 30,000 years we have been here on earth. how does mankind develop tonsils for talking, devlop a languge. develop highly complex civilization. advance irrigation techniques. astrological mapping. cave man taught himself how to use tools and with it make things with. like when buk used a welder to make a crappy manifold.

i mean serious question and it made sense. it was then i open my eye's and forgo my religion because the evidence made sense.

i belive the bible was an attempt at the truth. but has and is been augmented along with history.

lol you know what i must of had a brain fart. but change the names of baptist part to the apostle part and BOOM keep the same dates. ****** was still 100 years old. when it was written. your bible date and my record that was listed in that i got from the vaticans is roughly the same around 100 AD.
