You can deduce correct timing without a knock sensor, or det cans. At 389 whp, lasting 2000+ miles with mulletboy laying the hammer down, I'd say it was tuned correctly. My $0.02 says something else went wrong. Fuel pump, vac leak to the FPR, etc.

no vac leak and the fuel pump was a brand new walbro hi pressure 255lph.
im gonna have to lean towards a bad batch of gas.
who knows, all i know, is im on the verge of a retarded setup, and i dont even care that this motor blew. live and learn.

I've heard of some shady stuff about octane ratings and what gas stations sell for "premium" gas. My bro used to work at a local gas station in Minneapolis, and they would sell 89 octane under the 92 octane pump.
