Thats becuase they're sponsors are making them ride them cause everyone wants to do away with 2-strokes

I think we are going to be seeing some cool ---- coming from 4 stoke motocross bikes.. I still got love for the 2stroke
though..

2-strokes are about as obsolete as Muscle cars. Emissions and insurance killed them so now we're all stuck with shitty 4 cylinders

Not true. But just incase thats why they sell and extended warrenty that will cover anything other than regular maintenance.$300 bucks for 5 years and you can rape the ---- out of the motor. As soon as it tires you take it in and get a rebuild on the h0use ;).......at least with Yamaha thats the way it is 8)

That may be true, but the guys are still winning races.

Either way I like the sound of the 2-strokes a lot better. 4-strokes just sound gay.

That's because they're racing other poopy 4 strokes. :P

My CR250 has had several trips to Glamis since the new topend and an ungodly amount of hours in the desert and even some highway/street use and it's still running strong. The only thing I've had to replace is a fork seal, tires, chains/sprockets, and change the oil. No problems..........

If you have a fair race with a 4 stroke 250cc motor and a 2 stroke 250cc motor the 2 stroke will abso---------lutely dominate the 4 stroke hands down without a doubt. The only way the 4 strokes ever win races is because of the massive advantage in motor size. Of course it's going to be faster, the motor is twice the size.
4 strokes are gay and that's all there is to it.

rafi, its very true, look at the service manual for a yzf 250, you need to tear the top end apart every 15-20 hrs, which is 2 or 3 good days of riding.... :-X

i know cause i was gonna buy one, until i saw the pit the motor is, so i went back to 2 stroke.

In my manual it says to replace the rings like every 8 hours. I've riden over 8 hours in one day before. If I had to guess I would say I have about 100-125 hours on my topend and about 400 hours on the bottom end(bottom end is stock). My buddy has probably 200 hours on his Raptor and has hardly ever chnaged the oil in it, let alone rebuild it or adjust the valves.

his valve shims are most likely toast. your cr would wake right the ---- up with a frsh piston and ring... i rebuild mine every 50 or so hrs, and its a huge diff in throttle response and power, your jippin yourself justin

I'll probably only ride my bike 3-4 more times between now and October. It's pretty much parked for the summer. :(
