fishing stories
 

Went fishing at the wharf yesterday at 10am using squid and pilchards.
At bout 11.30am my reel spooled like crazy and I hooked onto something that literally felt like a steamtrain on the end of my line.I tuned the drag to allow for the fish to run , but it just kept pulling like crazy and I could feel in the weight and sheer power of the fish I had no chance of reeling it in.Then next thing I know bang! Snapped line :S
Figured it must have been a big shark or a stingray , by this time the adrenallin was turbo boosting through my veins ;D
Next time I'm definately using steel trace , as it sux talking about the one that got away :P
Fishing's like a natural high for me , anyone else got a story?

i got drunk as hell when catching tuna. got drunk and fell out of the boat. plenty of good fun though and having a slab of tuna the size of a steak tastes damn good over a fire.

I love fishing. Best fish I ever caught was a big ass lake trout on a canoe trip in algonquin park. It was just me and my friend in the canoe paddling around the island we were camping on. I hooked it and set the drag and the thing pulled out until I had maybe 5 feet of line left and then it calmed down and I started to reel it in. My friend paddled for an hour and a half as I fought the thing. I usually catch and release, but we hadn't had any meat in two days. It was the best fish I've ever had. We broiled it in a pan with lemonade powder mix on top of it. DELICIOUS. try it some time.

and yes i look like hell in that picture. the stupid facial hair is now gone though.

mackerel fishing is the ultimate fun... stop by the fish market on the way to the peer pick up one mackerel... dice it up on the peer... use it to catch another when ur first mackerel runs out dice up another nd catch another :1


after i went crabbing in chesepeak bay... fishing just wasnt the same...

crabbing > fishing.

where were you fishing?
ewwww cooked tuna. My personal and I know I am not the only one that shares this thought is that if tuna(r) is to be cooked, it should be seared to a temp of about rare to med-rare. but, I prefer sashimi.

only if its been marinated good.

also the thing where u salt and season the ---- out of tuna and put it in a jar and leave it for a couple weeks and it cooks it... brining i think its called? idk

smoked is where its at..

I stopped fishing, because I haven't caught anything in 5 years. Screw that.
