Fair way to resolve this?

1 Attachment(s)
So I ordered a crank/cam from a member here. He shipped it promptly, but I haven't had the chance to pick it up since it was "too heavy" to deliver to my house. Today I was sick so picked it up. Everything was bubble-wrapped and packaged well. The crank looks very nice. One of the cams was not wrapped (maybe fell out the bubblewrap?) and this is what I found:

Attachment 9494

What's a fair way to resolve this? It doesn't seem like the package was insured.

Does anyone have a GSR/ITR "G" cam? (intake?)

I always say if an item arrives broken it falls back on the shipper. It's their responsibility to pack it correctly or buy insurance. I understand that insurance costs more money, but if it was wrapped correctly you wouldn't need it anyway.

usps is 1.80, and bubble wrap/newspaper/loose plastic bags are fail for anything over 5lbs such as camshafts.

That's all on the shipper if it fell out of the bubble wrap.

People need to take notes from the og's like mista bone and chris.
Bone ships ------- transmissions all the time with great results
I recieved pistons and rods from chris that were packed with a million first class mailers so nothing could think about moving, I shipped many other packages using that one boxes packing alone there was so many.

oh and there is a set of cams and complete valvetrain for sale local on a board for 40 I may still be able to grab if you hurry,

someone said they'd pick them up tomorrow, not sure if he'd sell out from under the guy though.

The only fair and equitabe solution to all of this is the seller must post nudes of his mom to the OG forum.
