I wish I had know that sooner. About a 1,000 miles before it died, the alt. went out and I just spent $125.00 on a stock remani and it is rated at 45amps. WTF

What saturn atl is rated at 100 amps?

That was a really good article. Thank you for that aero. DSM alternator are so under powered it's ridiculous. I have a tiny little 200 watt amp and I'm always getting an intermittent MIL. P1500 generator terminal malfunction. http://www.kawiforums.com/images/smi.../thumbdown.gif

I used a 180sx alternator on my evo 2, fit in pretty well no major problems, was rated at 95 amps i believe, and was dirt cheap, i know you guys don't get 180's but im sure any alternator on an sr20 would have similar fitment. Just another option.

No problem. I never really had problems with mine not putting out enough. I think they are actually a 65 amp IIRC. Mine burned out and figured I might as well upgrade while I was at it.
