Default del sol

i got a honda del sol si with a d16z6 engine it has 97,xxx miles on it and i want to boost it but im worried about it dying too soon for my budget(dont have enough money right now for another engine). i will only run like 6-7psi on it or is that too high. but it will be complete stock internals. about how long will it run if everything is done right. no failure on the turbos part or predetonation.

If its tuned well, i would say years. I went through two bottem ends(bending a rod one time, and snapping another in half the second time)but, they were due to 1. Detonation, and 2. A failed waterpump. I have had this motor in for about a year now and running strong at 7psi. It has about 80-90k miles depending on the part.

tuning can best be done with hondata or via VAFC Hack'

Sounds like me just about 4 months ago.

My sol, with 117,xxx has been boosted for 1400 miles now, stock internals @ 6-7psi.

I used an FMU, internally wastegated IHI RHB5 turbo, missing link, walbro 255 lph fuel pump, BOV, and a huge intercooler. Everything is good for now.

A long *** time ago... I was racing some dudes in an altima club... didn't even realize it but my temp gauge was way past as hot as it wouuld read. I kept driving around like that.. not even realizing to look at. Then after i couple more hours of driving after i was racing, i noticed it. I pulled over and i was completely out of coolant. Im pretty religious in checking my fluids so i was like ooook. I filled it back up.. everything good. Was fine for the next couple days then i notice that it would leak a little sometimes, and then not leak. The day later i was driving down the freeway and a rod let loose and broke straight in half.
