Re: Curse word Fidanza and thier customer service
It doesn't matter what is right, it matters what they are willing to do. I've seen 4 clutchmasters flywheels with the same problem, the ring gear was held on by by 3 or 4 small button head screws which all sheared. I'm guessing this is the same design and this is just poor engineering and design. Tell them that they advertise their products for racing and they should be able to put up with the stress of racing. ching chong meow

Re: Curse word Fidanza and thier customer service
There's a local kid that this happened to without him racing the car, or really driving it. I'd stay away from anything but oem style flywheels.

You ARE WRONG...
AANNDDDDDDD Youre fucked. thats what you get for buying a piece of ---- "modular" flywheel assy. Countless people have had the bolts come uot of the FW that attach the ring gear to the FW itself (this is not specific to Findanza either). I got my current JDM LSD tranny (for 100 bux O0 ) cause some findanza piece of ---- came apart, and the pressure plate (with his new fw) stuffed the bolt right through the case, all the oil leaked out... and dude bought a new one because a shop said HE fucked up and needed a new one (nevermind they installed a new fw 1 piece chromoly, you know the ones that weigh like 1 or two UNNOTICABLE pounds more, that WONT ---- up)... They didnt check the ------- bellhousing AT ALL, and the bolt that came off the ring gear originally (at least one of them) was still in the housing somewhere, so when they put it togtether, with the new 1 piece fw, it jarred loose and cracked the case enough to go INTO IT. I went down there and the shop owner refused that its what happened, untill I pointed out the half moon half silver dollar sized hole, with the ------- bolt sitting right on top of the ring gear... They STILLL tried to get him to pay for the new disk he needed due to the oil ruining it... But Mike at LSD was cool enough to offer a clutch disk up and no more problems.. Plus side was I welded the case shut... JB welded it for good measure on top of that, and got a 8-900 tranny for 100 bux as my friend is cool... CLiffnotes : Get rid of that shitty ass ------- thing before it falls apart again, get a chromoly 1 piece, and you wont get fucked again. The old school CC twin disks had the same issues. Ask Ross. Ive PESONALYLY seen him try to fix that pice of ---- flywheel 3 or four times before he got ahold of a one piece. Or fix it, run it, and break it... AGAIN. He was rioght, the different expansion rates cause it. |
Re: Curse word Fidanza and thier customer service
idk i had a AL fidanza fw on my turbo probe gt and i raped that car everyday, and so have the 2 owners after me. never a problem.
i put thousands of miles on it. I guess i don't see how this stuff happens. But then again i know some people who could break anything. no matter how "beefy" it is built. |

Did you notice that Fidanza is SFI approved, meaning that it is THIER ------- FAULT AND THEY ARE LIABLE.I was searching around and if they carry the SFI cert, they have to guarantee that flywheel for 2-3 years.Good for them the flywheel didnt cause any other damage, they would have to cover that also.Ill be calling them in a bit, and see if i can get anywhere with this.If not, ill just get ahold of SFI directly and let them know what kind products they are putting thier certs on. |
Re: Curse word Fidanza and thier customer service
No they will cover it against manufacturing defects. This is not a defect. Kind of like your brand new car with 100k mile warranty that really doesn't cover ----. You will have to prove some how it was a manuf defect, and by that time you would have spent more than a new one.
