main reason fuel pumps go is because people run on ------- e all the time. the fuel pump keeps cool by having it full all the time. but yea chevy pumps like to go. im on my 3rd.

i wasnt talking common problems, you work on them but you dont drive them as your daily driver. my friend had one and it was a piece of ---- low quality typical GM product. squeeks, rattles, noises etc. basically they slowly fall apart, as per GM owners manual spec.

Add on to that the fact that no one ever changes the fuel filter and when they finally do then they will be putting in a pump within a week.

Intake gaskets are a common problem on almost all gm engines.

I'm going to drop the tank in the next couple days and check out the pump that is in there and maybe put one in as insurance. :)
And brakes for these are cheap as hell, what do I care?

Not on a Dry intake like the 5.3/6.0L. Only reason ud need to take that intake off is to replace the knock sensors

The o-rings fail and cause a lean condition on one bank. I just did a set on an 03 sierra 5.3 today that came in w/ 1,3,5,7 random misfire and b1s1 lean. Sprayed some carb clean along the edge of the intake and she bucked like ------ crazy. Took the intake off and sure as ---- the gaskets had failed. :)
