Re: Anybody else into fish tanks?
I used to have two pdf's. They were D. Azureus. I loved them, I just didn't have the time to pay attention to them and love them enough. So I gave them away. I'd suggest you check out http://www.dendroboard.com/phpBB2/ That place will get you hooked in no time flat. The biggest pain in taking care of them is making fruit fly cultures once a week but you get fast at it.

Re: Anybody else into fish tanks?
i have a 55 gallon cichlid tank and i have a aqua tech 30-60 and a aquaclear 500 (rated for 110 gallons) on it for filtration and find that combo does a realy good job of keeping everything clean and clear. i also have a 90 gallon semi planted tank and i use a fluval 305 witch is rated for a 75 gallon tank but i do regular water changes and it does the job pretty good but i only have small fish (mostly tetra's) in that tank. i also have a 30 gallon salt water tank with a 10 gallon sump with a whisper 2-10 gallon filter (for polishing the water) a protein skimmer rated for a 75 gallon tank and a maxijet 1000 return pump and i also have a maxijet 1200 in the tank for circulation along with another powerhead that i cant remember the name of right now. thats my 3 main tank and i have a few other small tanks to. not bad for a guy whos only 15 eh. i wouldn't recommend using a undergravle filter because i find alot of detritus builds up and decomposes witch causes alot of algae. and if you do run one run it in reverse so it takes water from the top of the tank and forces it under and through the gravel and gets all the detritus into the water column where it can then be removed by another type of filter. man i feel like a nerd now after typing all that but what ever. fish and things with moving parts and/or engines are about all im intrested in hobby wise.

Re: Anybody else into fish tanks?
I've got like a ~50ga tank with about 6 fish in it. Have had them for about a year and a half so I must be doing something right. I have 2 filters on it, which is probbaly overkill, but it seems to be working pretty good and the fish are still alive sooo......
The rocks are always pretty nast though.

Re: Anybody else into fish tanks?
Yeah well tomorrow morning im going to go pick up some live sand and live rock, salt solution, hydrometer, and ph testing stuff to start my 30 gallon saltwater tank tommorrow. Im going to just get it up and running with like 2 pounds of rock in it to cycle it till the first of next month when i get paid. Then im going to get the whole cast of finding nemo lol. 1-2 at a time though is going to take forever, and its a valentines day present for my girl. She loves that movie, hell anything to do with disney she loves. She is like a 13 year old in a 20 year olds body lol. Should be pretty cool though. Next month ill get a skimmer and maybe some other stuff. Petsolutions.com has some really good deals on stuff if you don't mind the shipping.
