I did have the nose blocked off once below 50F, about 18-20 square inch opening was all I needed

what made it 35 whp over stock? Just curious. That is damn impressive. Can you go turbo and still get 45-50mpg on the highway???

Yeah... An evo in SCC's competition a few years ago made 40mpg or more, with a 2L motor making like 450-500hp. The key was having a big enough turbo to stay out of boost and tuning for fuel mileage out of boost.

The sad part about it was APR's Evo I think (widebody yadda yadda looked fast but sucked) placed significantly worse in the competition, made less power, and had half the mileage.

They also said brad's MR2 widebody, supercharged 3.0L 1mz-fe v6 with the trd supercharger at 9psi, and a 125 shot of the juice would get over 40mpg, when it admittantly bearly get's 25 on the highway.
