if you gotta go aftermarket on your front end run a buddyclub style. they are "semi" close to stock and fiberglass so you can hack all you want ;D
and you can use 4ga cable for battery relocation with no problems just run a 8-4ga ground with it and your set
by the way use a propane torch to solder your ring connections works wonders and is quick as ---- if you got any skill :1

Re: Advise me on riceboy bodywork for my car.

FYI, 88-89 and 90-91 hatchback front ends are almost identical in size and mounting. Small subtle changes are made to the bumper cover itself, but the size remains the same. How do I know this? From trying various 88-91 style front bumpers on my hatch, both hatchback and Crx ones. My pick from my experience is the Crx front bumper, 90-91 style...it'll swap on with minor mod work (meaning you have to swap to crx fenders and bumper support and then cut off the lower pieces from the civic fenders and weld them on to the crx units...the spots where on crx's it's normally plastic, or just run the plastics anyway and call it a day) and you can still retain the stock hatch hood. With that front bumper I was able to run a fmic that was 27"x11.5"x2.75" (aka Evo8 fmic ;) ) and not have to worry about cutting into anything but the radiator T-bar.

I was wondering why the ---- you were telling me about a conversion I already knew how to do until I got to the stock hatch hood part. WTF? I thought the CRX fenders/hood were curved slightly? Keep talking, damn you.

Yeah, I think I already mentioned the 24"X11"X4" IC I had in the nose of my 89 HF? There's forty ------- acres of room in a CRX front bumper. :S

I've done a full crx front conversion on a hatchback. It needed the fenders & fender brackets, metal bumper & brackets, and of course the bumper. Everything bolts on but the trim on the side doesn't match.

damnit got beat to the punch.

What iff you offset the inlets forward, cut out the vertical rad support brace, and moved the intercooler up & back a couple inches?

Even cut out the middle of the bumper filler, and increase the airflow a bit, maybe.

I'm running 22x9x3 right now in a 90-91 DX bumper and my ---- is still pretty stealthy. Can anyone confirm that the Si/DX bumpers are different in terms of depth?

I'm sure JD possesses the required knowledge for a battery relocation. He stated that it would cause a hassle at the dragstrip unless it was properly vented and ----.

you can fit an odyssey or similar small battery on top of the subframe behind the transmission.

I already stated my complete lack of interest in spending money to relocate a battery that is just fine in it's stock location.
