Default Where you getting downpipes?

I was just wondering where most people are getting their downpipes. I can find everything but that, im looking for something for a B16 and possibly using a 14B turbo at this time. Any suggestions or where to look search didn't help exactly.

best places are calling up local muffler shops and asking them if they will do it for you using mandrel bends.

So just using cheap muffler piping is ok? I was told that the heat and pressure would ruin them for sure in a short amount of time.

no way will exhaust tubbing break cause of the turbo exhaust. if anything the turbo slows down the exhaust, that is why a turbo car without a catalytic sounds way quiter than a non turbo car with an aftermarket catback exhaust.just call performance shops in your town. there is always a few locals that will show up at your house or you could drive to their place and get your charge pipes and down pipes welded. a turbo shop in my town recomended a guy to me that made my turbo manifold, and did all the welding, chargepipes, oil pan oil return, down pipe, BOV flange. the guy was cool. he charged $400. for a tubalar manifold made outta mild steel weld elbows and $120. for the other welding i mentioned above.

Wow thanks for the info, I really need to do some looking around. Cuas out here in Chicago area I haven't found anyone that would be willing to do that much for so cheap. Made a call for a downpipe and was told $600 and I almost choked...i dont know what the locals are thinking. As of right now I might be doing the rank1racing manifold with a 14b.

100-150 max for the pipe all the way back to the muffler.

or at least to the axle.
anymore is just stupid, it takes them 20 minutes...

order a mandrel bend for whatever size you plan on making your dp, then go find you a nice mom and pop exhaust shop (not some big name like meineke) and drive your car to them after you put the turbo on (yes, it's fine to drive with no downpipe for a little while), then have them fabricate the dp from the turbo back to the cat where the rest of your exhaust starts. any decent place should do it for less than 50 bucks. don't forget to have an o2 bung welded in. you should prolly have two welded in and just block one off so it's there when you're ready to tune with a wide band.
