hey guys, from all your pictures i've been looking at, seems as though you're using standard mild steel pipe for your downpipe. from experience the heat coming out of the *** end of the turbo is too intense for mild steel and it tends to crack pretty quickly. i've been recommended to use schedule 40 steam pipe as it's thicker steel. what do you guys use for your downpipes?

use regular *** old muffler pipe. you dont need to get into all that heavy duty ----. look at all the factory turbo cars... none of them have tank metal downpipes

Im partial to JCwhitney mandrel bends. Aluminized steel.
But anything works. If you've got some bends laying around that work, use em'

ok i'll try mild steel mild to start with, but i really want to prepare my down pipe for a terrorist attack, hence the stronger steel

the thicker steel might not be better becase a down pipe can heat up so fast that the inside could try to expand faster than the outside and that equals a crack and come to think of it I really haven't seen many regular steel down pipes crack.

fork is correct. The uneven thermal distribution is more likely to cause cracks than high temperature. Stress risers cause cracks, not heat.

C'mon you guys are overthinking this. Its not gonna crack, unless you have no flexpipe and shitty engine mounts. :P
