i have the 2nd gen turbo on my 96 civic ex,i heard the stock wastegate suppose to be 8 psi?but my car has never seen 8 psi b4, the most i seen it is at 5?i also have my mbc all the up,what can be a problem?if theres a boost leak could u still even make boost?someone plz help thanks

Yes you can still make boost with a boost leak.

check all your charge pipe connections and make sure everythings tight, then if that don't change ne thing, pull the vaccum line off of the wastegate and see if it boosts higher but be careful not to go too high, it that fixes it then you got a leak in your vaccum lines or there not hooked right.

Remember freinds. Your internal WG can own your boost levels by the flapper not being shut all the way.

also check for major boost leaks, could even be the combination of both,.... and dont forget to trn ur mbc down a little bit after checking for these problems!

how do i fix it?if this is so?im going to take out my bumper and make sure theres no leaks tomorrow

exhaust leaks can own u.

its easy to shim the wastegate if u need to. Just toss a few washers in there to keep it closed longer.

im missinga bolt where the manifold and the adapter go can that be it?

that could very well be it. the above suggestions were all good one's. If I were you I'd check for exhaust leaks, possible spots for boost leak, odds are you do are correct in which way you MBC is cranked (ie. full boost) but for pete's sake, DONT DO THAT! Unless you are pissed off at your motor, then do it and see how long it lasts. If your WG works all of a sudden like it should and you boost spike 20-25 psi, i can guarantee you'll be sorry

i took pff the mbc,and it seems to get more boost?it used to do a constant 3 or 4 now it jumps to 5 or 6, i guess there is a boost leak somewhere, what im going to do is replace all the couplers and clamps.i will use high temp couples and reducers and use tbolt clamps.also the pipe that connects the turbo to the intercooler is a heater hose thing, i will use a steel or alum. u bend pipe.i hope this works, also the mbc controller looks really cheap, i guess that was the problem or it wasnt hooked up right!
