Re:what is smc hack
You dont need to use the FMU when doing any of the hacks.
The VAFC/SAFC work very similar, in the hack.
The SMC does basically what the APEX controller does, but it doesnt use a fancy display, just a few dials that you set with a screw. Its a bit tougher to tune.
I would just go ahead and add the injectors to your setup now, and you will be fine.

Re:what is smc hack
I have read articles on the AFC hack and I still don't see how it works under boost. If I set the fuel to -35% at 5000 RPM How does it know if I am just cruising down the hiway or have my foot to the floor and running full boost? I plan on running the Feild Boxer Series SFC and DSM injecters. Won't the car run too rich while cruising or too lean under boost. Am I missing something here?

And yes you can use the Fields hack, we are using that on one of our civic HB's (d16z6) works great! Yes it doesnt have the wide range as the AFC's do, but it does the job.

So wouldn't it be better to keep the FMU and just run it at 2-1 or 4-1 so you can get the extra fuel when boosting, but run cleaner when not boosting? Why burn all that gas when most of the time you are not in boost. Isn't it hard on the motor to run that rich all the time?

you are limited to what you can do with an FMU, even with a 12:1 disc at 7psi the car is not getting enough fuel with your stock 240cc injectors. I personally like using bigger injectors and control them with a device, alot safer.
