Default What to expect from a boosted H22

I seen stupid kits you can buy online telling me to expect 100hp out of there kits, which include t3 turbo, bov, external wastegate, fmu, a front mount, ETC, a full turbo kit. Im not planning on buying a kit im planning on getting the ---- myself and saving a couple grand. Im just wondering if this amount of hp can be expected at 7psi Like all these companies claim.

You could make 100hp at only 7psi. It just depends on how big the turbo is.

In real life, no you should not expect that out of a typical turbo kit. If you get serious and invest in some real engine management you could pull some numbers like that.

You mean with a basic FMU for fuel management? Nothing much. Maybe 30hp? I dunno? It really depends on soooooooooooooooo many things that any guess would be inaccurate. Only the dyno will tell.

Correct me if im wrong but i was once told that 14psi roughly doubles your hp so 7psi would make half that??

it depends. some turbo's make more CFM meaning more power at the same psi as another turbo.

You can get the same or more HP as any "kit" claims as long as you use the right parts, most importantly good fuel management and a turbo CFM that would work with your engine. Just don't expect huge gains using an FMU as you would with larger injectors and AFC hack.

Isnt it like 10 horse per pound for the first three psi and 8 after that? I always thought that was a good rule of thumb. Maybe or maybe not. Use the hack before the fmu though.

i heard that for every psi you add five percent of the orignal HP of the car.
