Default what can I expect from my intercooler?

I know it's going to cool the intake charge down which equates to less risk of detonation and a little more power...

but how much could I realistically expect from the intercooler right now power wise??

just a d16y8 with a standard greddy kit that I turned up to 9psi...

so what would my intercooled vs. non-intercooled power be like? ballpark figures are fine. 3hp? 5hp?

You'll remove heat from your system, so you'll be able to turn the boost up slightly with much less risk.

(to continue)

and thus, more boost = more power.

It also gives you a more dense intake charge.. More oxygen= more power. I have scene some front mount conversions in magaizines give up to 30hp. It kinda depends how inefficient the turbo is to begin with. Also how good your intercooler is.

more oxygen doesnt give more power. Gas you add in to keep the correct a/f ratio that gives u the power.

you can also count on a 1 to 2 psi drop if you are non-intercooled right now.

Ok smarty.. More oxygen lets you run more fuel to make more power.. more oxygen is the whole reason for running a turbo. To correct any pressure drop the intercooler might cause run the wastegate vaccum line off the intake manifold or anywhere after the intercooler.

O2 is a combustible, it can "amplify" an existing flame. this amplification inside the combustion chamber is what creates extra the force. fuel, on the other hand, is a flammable and more of it doesn't amplify the flame in the same way that O2 does. therefore, more air (oxygen) = more power.

ya you go and put a turbo on you car and dont add fuel.. call me 10 seconds later when it blows up. You need to KEEP the A/F ratio in order to make ANY power. you can't just dump in fuel. and you can't just dump in more o2. Has to be both. Unless you like melting pistons.
