dont just leave it, its a boost source, You can run a vacuum line from their to a wastegate or if u customize it, use it for the boost gauge. do not leave it or u will have a small "boost leak"

not boost leak, "boost management"

lick it, or play with it ...j/k. If you decide not to use it, it's 1/8th NPT threaded. So if you wanna block it off, go to home depot's toilet repair section and get a 1/8th npt plug and block it off.

yeah it's a nipple....too much work to block off I'll just use it for my boost gauge seeming it fits my vac hose nicely. Thanks guys for your help.

It's always nice when poster answers his/her own question and everyone got to throw in their 2 cents.

I had an idea of how it worked but just needed some reassurance.

This is definitely the worst place to use for your boost guage. You want to know how much boost is getting to your MAP sensor...which means taking a reading from anywhere between the throttle plate and the intake valves. This also helps if you have a dual function VAC/BOOST guage as the nipple on the turbo will only show boost.

This nipple is best to use for your wastegate as its probably the closest source of boost to the wastegate. Keep in mind this will make the overall system show the wastegate less boost. If you need to up it, buy or make a manual controller and up it until you find the point where you want to be (on your guage).

Good luck.

I hear different things from different people. Some say it's a bad idea to use that as a source for wg then some say to use it as a source for a boost gauge. It does though make sense that you want to see amount of boost going to the map. Hmm what to do? I'm running a vac manifold and kinda wanna run everything off of that but then i would need to find something to block off nipple on housing. It's a td04L so there's no 1/8 fitting just the nipple.

So if I was to hook the nipple to wg it would show less boost. This means that if the stock boost on wg is set a 10 it would actually be at 8 for example.

Exactly...or less.

On my car...I believe my Tial Spring is ~8 psi. I also have an wastegate elbow...this seems to lower it to 6 psi. After I hooked up my wastegate to the nipple on the turbo, my boost guage was showing 3-4 psi.

So then I just added a MBC and upped it back to 8
