Default Could I reduce the timming thru my distributor for the AFC hack?

I heard the AFC hack increases the timming & it needs to be reduced. How many degrees per 1 psi would I have to reduce the timming? Also how much spark plug gap? I heard the gap needs to be increased to run colder.Thanks.

I think it depends on how much PSI you're boosting.

I plan on 8psi maybe 9 or 10psi after.

If you retard the timing at the distributor, you're doing it for everything. It's not just while in boost. This is the reason the hack isn't nearly as good as chipping your ecu. If you want to retard timing per psi of boost with the hack, you have to get an MSD btm or other electronic add on of that sort.

Do I have to treduce the timming? I'm starting off with 6.5psi going 8-9psi later on.

I talked to a guy at South Florida Performance and he told me timming doesn't have to be retarded til 14psi. I told him I had a b16.

I wouldn't go past 7psi without retarding the timing in boost if you want your setup to last.

your stock ECU natrually increases the timing, your AFC hack just does not do anything to it. So technically your AFC does not advance timing, it is your ECU.

Chingro, do you retard it from the distributor? 1degree per
1psi? Also, that guy told me to put in ngx4091 & gap it to
.028. Which plugs & gap is good?
