Weird boost/tach problems......

Re:Weird boost/tach problems......
I've tried like 3 different sets of brand new plugs. I can't even punch it in any gear and still have boost.
My tune isn't messed up because I tuned it myself with my own WB last month. YES my friend is still n/a for the time being. What I don't get it why did the problem go away for a bit after I tightening the gap on the plugs then it came back? Same thing happened when I replaced the distributor cap, the car was fine for a whole day. Then the next day it messed up again.
It has to be a misfire because if I suddenly went lean the engine rpms wouldn't drop down to 750rpm's in a matter of 0.5 seconds
I'm gonna try taking out my distributor and cleaning all the connections to the ignitor and putting di-electric grease on the connections then tighten them down good. I'll also check the resistance of my NGK wires. I'll probably try swapping in my buddies MSD wires.

UPDATE:
This morning I tried taking apart the distributor and cleaning all the connections inside it with sandpaper and then put some dielectric grease on all the connections and tightened them back up. While I was putting the distributor back I noticed that the wires that are grounded onto the thermostat housing weren't fully tightened down So I took out the bolt and sandpapered both sides of the ground connection and the spot on the thermostat housing. Then topped it off with the dielectric grease and bolted it up nice and tight.
When for a short drive for about 10mins and I was boosting fine But I'm not gonna say that my problem is completly fixed because the last couple times I did anything to the ignition ie: (change the cap, re-gap the plugs) the car boosted fine for a short period of time. So I'll drive around for a couple days and update again.
This time I tried:
Tightened the ground wires on the thermostat housing
Cleaned and dielectric greased all the connections in the distributor

Re:Weird boost/tach problems......
your ignition module has gone bad, not your plugs, not your wires, nothing else, i had that SAME EXACT PROBLEM with my teg for about a month (happens on and off), i changed plugs, wires, caps, rotor, all that shyt and nothing, then for like a day it happens all the time, and i swap out the ignition module and it never happened again.
later (about 3weeks) the ignition coil went bad and car will not start/run, and the dealer wants $90+tax for the coil, and junkyards want 100-150 for a complete distributor.
i just went and got a MSD external coil ($50+tax) and installed it last night, CAR RUNS SMOOOOOTH all the way to redline. its good to be back on the road after a few days.
