wastegate question...
alright, what im curious about is wastegate size. i dont really know what size i would need. whats the diff. between say a 34mm tial, and a 42mm tial, or something along those lines? is necessary size dependent on turbo size and how many cfm's the turbo flows? im getting ready to boost my z6 with a t3, around what size and which wastegates are fairly good without costing a shitload of money?
also, anyone know anything about the SMC hack? i dont really have the money for any kind of standalone system. im only going to run about 6 lbs so im not sure if my injectors will be leaning out or not, but if i have to upgrade to larger injectors, whats a good way to go as far as fuel management (besides FMU's)?

Cheapest way to go for fuel management is to just get a new pump and those rising rate fuel regulators. They should handle you at 6 psi no prob. Mine seems to burn fairly lean with no management what so ever at about 3 psi, so you can run that low until you can afford a stronger fuel management system.
I am not positive on the waste gate question, I imagine the size of the tial would effect the amount of air released and thus the more CFM you're pushing would be a better reason to have a bigger tial? If that made any sense.
You may just want to wait till you can get your fuel management pieced together before even considering a waste gate, its perhaps the most important step with boosting.

Re:wastegate question...
i've got a 255lph walbro pump right now... i didnt want to go rising rate regulators though because i dont like how they work...
i figured i would try the smc or afc hack and just use larger injectors...which is why i was curious about how the hack works, so if anyone knows i would appreciate it.

Re:wastegate question...
the tial size of 34 or 42 indicates different stages of hp each can handle. Such as a 32 tial may be able to handle a max of 400 hp while a 42 can handle 800hp more hp = more flow equalling a better wastegate is needed. Im got a size 32 on a external wastegate i ripped off a porsche it should be good to handle up to 300+ hp. As for cost they all cost alot for a tial the cheapest i seen them go for is around $200+ but you should be fine a 32 or something.hope this helps
