That turbo is small as my ***** in a bucket of icecream. Other than that it should work. I wouldnt plan on pumping too much boost (5-6 psi max) just because of its small size. Also I think VW has a funny bolt pattern on that turbo so you would need a custom adapter plate.

the internal wastegate is set at 8 psi as far as i know. the exhaust flange is a little weird on vw turbochargers, but im just gonna cut off a flange off of a downpipe laying around the shop and work my down pipe from there. probably gonna run the 450 safc hack for fuel management. that should be sufficient enough.

you should be ok.. that is the turbo for the 1.8t right? enough to get 180hp from the vw motor should be good for 1.6l

it is indeed the same turbo on the 1.8T. My buddy Derek has a 1.8 T and is into the VW tuning scene and I know for a fact that those turbos are capable of making far more than 180 HP. They are wastegated at 8 psi but should be good for upwards of 11 psi when all is said and done.

I have this ko3 turbo and its not too bad
Its installed on my d15z6 and it pump 1.1BAR but at higher Rpm ( above 5500RPM the pressure goes down slowly down to 0.6 at 7000RPM )
it spools fast like hell
i have max pressure at 2800RPM
now iam doing a hybryd and ill try to install a Ko4 rotor to make max pressure more stabile.
its a good turbo anyway, i have done 800Miles on it and its still only oil cooled and it works fine.
and because my turbo is melted to my stock header, ill proudly say that iam a real HMT ghetto constructor

My experiance is that the wastegate is factory set at 5 psi. Had two (one brand new) and both were set at 5.

Anyway, I would go for a bigger turbo if I were you.
