Could just chack it by wireing a light to the vtec slenoid out put on the ecu. Because there would be no output if there wasn't enought oil pressure.

if you're motor is pulling hard to red line, you have vtec

unplug your vtec solenoid and then see if you notice a difference

doesn't the ecu send a signal to activate the vtec solenoid which in turn locks the rockers? so putting a vtec light does not necessarily mean your vtec cams are engaging?

i'll try removing the solenoid signal, will see if there is a difference
