Default car not running right after boost....?

Alright, a friend and I installed a turbo on his 97 civic ex last weekend. He didn't go the most expensive route and ended up getting an FMU (don't jump down my throat ). The kit came with a missing link....but I think it was missing parts to it. It came with the shiny chrome piece, 2 rubber washers, and 2 screws. I can see a purple rubber(?) thing inside the chrome piece.....but that's it. It seems like there should be more, but I'm not an expert. It had some red plug on the bottom of it, but we took it off before we installed it. The car runs just fine until you get into the boost. It won't run right after boost, it has a really hard time going from a stop, I have to really take off or else it dies. I also get a few small backfires. If I turn the car off, then back on, then everything is fine again......untill I boost. The cel is on and the codes are for the intake sensor, exhaust manifold o2 sensor, and map sensor. Any ideas?

install 3 check valves between the intake manifold and MAP sensor, remove the missing link. see if that works. If it doesnt oh well you wasted $5

Would the map sensor be what's giving us the fuel problems, or something else?

Seeing that you said the missing link was missing pieces, yeah I'd assume it's a problem with the MAP reading, thus the check valve idea.

dont mess with missing link, too expensive for what it does and looks too nice, do the check valves, u can buy them at any fish store or even wal-mart. if not sure how to install just do a search...youll find.
