Default vitara p2w clearance.

back in the game.got a z6 for a couple hundred. looking for high 300 low 400's. vitara setup of course. measuring everything out and matching to specs. (piece of mind) Just wondering if any specs are not matched to oem factory specs for higher hp builds. Ill have pics of my block soon. will probobly turn into a build thread, just too busy with work/school for pics. will be honing at school this work and measuring.

what do you recomend for p2w clearance for high hp d's? D16z6
(FAQ talks about only 75.5 vitaras)

also, can someone with a vitara 75mm give me an exact measurment of the piston diameter?

also looking for some input on headwork/intake/tb for high hp 20+psi setups.

Just drop them in go. ~0.0040" - 0.0045" would be a nice place, but most of the time when you drop them in they are sloppy like an old -----, but seem to be fine like that. There was a thread on this not that long ago and 90dx had just put his in, it was probably 0.065"+

yes and his build was never finished. so just because he has excessive clearance does not mean he wont have excessive wear/blowby. would like actual information not just opinions. everyone has those.

Imagine that it says the same thing I did.

In a boosted honda 98% of the time you shoot for a 0.0040" to 0.0045" ptw, tighter if you are 150hp fanboi, and looser if you are building a 1000hp race motor.

This being HMT, we just drop the vitara's in and go, ---- vitara's and rods and a whole D series block, costs less then just good machine work, or a decent head job, if it ***** up you just throw it in the trash and do it again.

If you are too poor to be comfortable with that, then you should probably have something built with good parts, and get a good tune, so you don't waste the few $$$ you have.

If this question is because you just bought over sized vitara's and you, want to double check before you take your block for machining. Then have them go for 0.040" if you are shooting for the 300whp range, and 0.045" if you are going to go to the track with some race gas and go for 400whp or beyond to the vitara record.

since i took the time to tear it all down and clean it, i mise well make sure its put together well enough to make some good power. ive seen 200hp vitara setups and ive seen 400hp vitara setups. i would like to do as much as possible to get the higher end of the spectrum. in no hurry. the link was good info. would like more expierience/knowledge on vitara build to get me as close as possible to 400hp.i know hmt ignorance is bliss, but it only makes cars faster to a certain point

400 whp d series are hardly that easy to slap together let alone keep them from breaking on a monthly basis.

your 400hp d project really does not portray a complex build either. imo
