you can use the cold side and wheel for an upgrade to other ihi turbos. such as mazda/probe/subarus.

This is something I was wondering about.... are all the IHI RHB5, RHB52's interchangeable part wise? That is, do they share the same bolt pattern on the center section so that turbines are interchangeable? If so, what would be an upgrade to the T-bird turbo, and what car does it come from?

Well, that's good to know. So, the a/r is .48/.52? What trim? And would you happen to know what the factory internal wastegate setting is? Thanks.

ahhh so your wrong

I guess you can look at it that way if you wish, the power starts to drop immediately after the peak anyways, so their really isn't much point in calculating at any higher rpm.

I agree with them... The Thunderbird rhb52 should be big enough. It's a little bigger, with more psi than the "common" rhb52's. Which... If we're all being honest, are only descent at upgrades for typical skid-steer (Bobcat) turbo diesels & motorcycles.

On the stock spring the tbird rhb52 should be doing 1 bar anyway. The stock spring on it is 14-14.5 psi. They can do 20psi... But 1) They're old... I wouldn't trust it 2) They're small as ----... It's going to be very ineffecient.

Do a search of my posts here on HMT and you'll find all the information you need on IHI's and T Birds.

Just an FYI-Here is a video of a guy going 13.3 with nothing more than a stock VJ11 and a T Bird wheel and compressor:

ignore the bashing and just put it on the car... you can't lose, you already have the turbo, if you don't like it, take it off and upgrade the wheel/buy a new turbo...

its not a big deal.
